Oh!  And didn't they just 'FIND' 700 new islands? Don't forget those!!   

 

The creator of the mod has discovered that there's a hard limit on the world size right now a 100K x 50K map will result in the game not loading. However, I've recently managed to complete a 60K x 30K test map, so.. silver linings and all that

Oh wow, the new map is really impressive!

Do you plan on recreating other areas from the real world? It's always cool to see what you can do with the game's systems when you challenge it.

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm uploading a couple of updated pictures of the Japan map - It is coming along well. I'm slowly adding buildings and what not across the map for it to be more exciting when I finally upload it. The seasonal changes are far more accurately reflected now - Winter extends all the way to mid-Kyushu.
Here is how it looks today:

As you can see, the entire map is now densely forested (even many parts that look like there aren't any trees - They are there, they simply blend in with the colour of the grass). The only part that isn't forested is the Kanto plain.

Here are some more miscellaneous screenshots. These are from the "Safe houses" I've constructed. They are scattered throughout the map here and there for a place to stay over night, provided you can find one.

I'm hoping the map will be available within a few more weeks!
