Wahazar Posted October 21, 2025 Report Posted October 21, 2025 Currently, only 3x3 grid recipes can be player class restricted. It is slightly weird, when you can forge Blackguard sword blade, but joining it with stick is beyond comprehension of your class. Situations is worse in case of multiplayer server, when someone want to add/edit some class to get RPG-like settings. Who need Blacksmith, if everything can be done by anyone? Therefore my proposal, to implement trait exclusiveness in barrel, smiting (maybe also clay knapping) recipes. The only problem I see here is handbook, which is not very reticent in case of smiting or knapping recipes. This is another story, honestly, 3D sketch of vortexes required to craft given item would be very useful here, beside of of vague link to general page about smiting or crafting. 1

The game's story and basic progression still needs to be easily completed by any class in singleplayer, without needing to disable class-exclusive recipes. 3 hours ago, Wahazar said: It is slightly weird, when you can forge Blackguard sword blade, but joining it with stick is beyond comprehension of your class. I do agree on this point being weird. Really, the shortblade option shouldn't even show up as a forging recipe unless the player in question is a Blackguard, or class-exclusive recipes are turned off(so it's an oversight). Aside from just disabling the recipe for non-Blackguards, I think a better fix would just be to add a plain shortsword that utilizes the same forge pattern, but has worse stats than the Blackguard blade. That way, players have a "normal" sword option they can craft and use, while still letting Blackguard equipment retain its advantage, while still letting the falx have its niche advantage with the autoloot feature. 3

The point is, that it is not possible to create mod, which grant exclusive smiting recipe for Blacksmith, or knapping recipe for Potter. I'm not talking about base game. 1
