Aaron Lagarda Posted October 30, 2025 Report Posted October 30, 2025 I think something that would help greatly increase the variety of blocks for builds would be fences made out of bricks Mostly and specially clay bricks (maybe ashlar bricks? I don't know they seem maybe too large to make something like that) because of all the new clay brick colors that were added recently. We could go for a rate of 6 bricks and 1 mortar for 2 pieces of fence Would be kinda expensive but I think it would be cool to have a wall/fence similar to the ones we already have with stone but that look less haphazardly placed I also think they could do well as posts in long wood fencings, makes them more sturdy looking. Another alternative of fence could be rope fences, I really can't think of a good rate but I imagine a recipe like, 4 sticks and a coil of rope to make some, those could be a nice early game fence option that isn't as, well, rough as the rough fences (I know that once placeable rope reaches the game something like this could be done without adding the item itself but let me dream) 1
LadyWYT Posted October 30, 2025 Report Posted October 30, 2025 Possibly, I'm not against more pre-built pieces. However, I also get the impression that the chisel system is where the most build variety is going to be. 1 hour ago, Aaron Lagarda said: Another alternative of fence could be rope fences, I really can't think of a good rate but I imagine a recipe like, 4 sticks and a coil of rope to make some, those could be a nice early game fence option that isn't as, well, rough as the rough fences I'd probably opt for palisade instead, and allow them to be stackable so that players can build different heights. It fits the bill of an early fencing option, while also appearing very protective. Not that I'm against including rope fences, but those are mostly decorative, and not intended to keep things in or out of an area. 2
