Schwabbelkatze Posted November 16, 2025 Report Posted November 16, 2025 Hey, I started playing recently and just built a rather large basement under my house. I've built walls to keep every room under the 7x7x7 limit so the decay rate for food is fine. But whenever I'm down there my stability is going down constantly. I'm aware that this is because of the general stability debuff when underground (caves etc.), but is there a way to remove that just for my basement? I smith there and spending too much time causes me to get dangerously unstable.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure that there's currently a way to adjust the stability aside from turning off the mechanic entirely. The best fix is to just move your smithing setup to a more stable area, or else be prepared to burn a lot of temporal gears and healing items to keep your stability topped off. If you're willing to mod, you could try one of these, though bear in mind that mods aren't guaranteed to be maintained, and may have unintended consequences. Older mods will sometimes work on a newer version, but best to make a backup of your world just in case something goes wrong. I'll try to brute force my way through the instability. Took too long to mine out that space to just not use it. Thanks for the insanely fast reply. 1
