Solution LadyWYT Posted December 7, 2025 Solution Report Posted December 7, 2025 The first step is to disable your mods and ensure vanilla works properly. If it doesn't, you'll need to backup your saves in a separate folder and reinstall the game, then check again to make sure vanilla is working properly. Once you've verified vanilla works as it should, then you can start adding mods back in one by one, testing as you go. Though tedious, it's the easiest way to figure out exactly which mod is causing the problem, if you've otherwise no clue to the culprit. The only other thing I can think of to check is to make sure that installed mods are either up to date for the recent game version, or are otherwise known to be working correctly on the recent game version. Likewise, check for mods that are marked as a developer version--these mods often have issues(but not always) since they are unstable releases.
Arisilde Posted December 7, 2025 Report Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) This isn't a texture issue, it's actually a world lighting issue. There's 0 light so the world is pitch black even when the sky seems lit. I've seen it happen to single chunks before, but never the whole world at once   Usually reloading or time fixes it (chunk regenerates). There's also a server command /debug chunk relight you can use to force it to recalculate the light. might try that and see if it fixes the chunk you're in. Then at least you'll have a data point. I thought there was another command to recalc light for the whole server, but I'm not finding it at the moment. If this is a persistent problem that isn't going away over multiple relogs, I'd do as Lady says and start removing mods. Though typically you do half your list of remaining mods each relog. This narrows it down for you in significantly fewer tries. Edited December 7, 2025 by Arisilde
Nat_VS Posted December 7, 2025 Report Posted December 7, 2025 @Arisilde I think you're close but not exactly correct - If you take a look at the grass blocks, they are appearing as complete black panes, rather than a completely unlit texture. If it was just lighting, that wouldn't effect the transparency of such blocks. My suggestion is that this is a shader mod, if you have any installed. Specifically, I would say the standard.fsh/vsh shaders appear broken (with the premise that the water is rendering fine, which uses a different shader). 1
Arisilde Posted December 7, 2025 Report Posted December 7, 2025 @Nat_VS Ah, I didn't see that detail. Tbh, I can't see it even after you've pointed it out  unless you mean the tree leaves? That's really good to know for future reference about the full pane versus just black texture. Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure if it's leaves or grass. Either way, something is using a solid quad rather than its texture.
Queslenot Posted December 7, 2025 Author Report Posted December 7, 2025 idk why but it was the animal cages mod Â
