Prevent chickens from being scared through walls

Hola!

I've built a small barn for my animals and surrounded it with walls (chiselled). My bush farm is right next to it.

Unfortunately my chickens get scared even when I'm outside, preventhing them from incubating the eggs properly.
They shouldn't be able to see me, as there's a wall between them and me.
Is this intended, did I do anything wrong or is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Thank you very much! :)

The only thing that matters is distance. Chickens go into panic/flee mode, if you or predators are within 11 blocks.
