preownedcorn Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 I just got a new pair of headphones (Sennheiser Momentum 4) and I am having issues with the audio in the game. Currently, my audio sounds like I am listening to the game audio through a phone call, with a really inconsistent and muffled sound. I am connected to my laptop through bluetooth so could that be the issue? I have the audio selected as my headphones in the game settings and I am not sure how to fix this.
Vexxvididu Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 have you tested the headphones with other audio sources like just music on youtube?
pigfood Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 (edited) Have you checked the Bluetooth profile for your headphones? Bluetooth audio is one of the worst standards ever. If your headphones use the Bluetooth HFP mode with Vintage Story for some reason, audio quality will be horrible (literally landline phone quality in many cases). Does your laptop have up to date Bluetooth support? (Theoretically Bluetooth has more than enough bandwidth to allow for good audio quality. But only recent standard versions/devices allow for decent audio quality, if a microphone is detected/involved.) Your Sennheiser Momentum 4 are capable of good audio quality, if they don't use Bluetooth HFP mode. Edited January 5 by sushieater
AmethystZhou Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 I've had similar issues (not on Vintage Story) with Apple AirPods on Windows. Basically my PC recognized the AirPods as two separate devices, the regular "AirPods" and an additional "AirPods hands-free audio" or something like that. The second one had horrible audio quality because it uses the telephone bandwith standard. I had to manually disable that one to force Windows to use the regular bluetooth connection. Check the bluetooth device settings, see if the name of the device say something like "hands-free audio" and possibly remove the device and adding it again.
