I'd swear I read that they're self-cleaning after a while, but I've left one out for a month now sitting in the sun and it hasn't changed a bit. Anyone know how long it takes? I mean, yes, I have made other crocks, but I just am grumpy that I can't retrieve that one and put it back into packing stuff away for winter.

You need to toss it into some water and let it sit for a few seconds. That should clean it out. Works for bowls and cookpots too, save for the dirty cookpots that have been used to make glue and candles. Those are dirty beyond cleaning.

Ah, thank you! Much appreciated. I did try putting it in water, clicking it on a bucket, clicking on it with a bucket...I guess I just didn't leave it in the water long enough!
