zartax35 Posted Thursday at 07:36 AM Report Posted Thursday at 07:36 AM I'm noticing whenever I'm holding a tool part it says that it "smelts into 1x copper ingot" but I can't for the life of me figure out how that's done. It's a knife blade, but it doesn't fit into the crucible. How do I re-smelt a solid metal tool head? (I'm also using a mods)
williams_482 Posted Thursday at 02:53 PM Report Posted Thursday at 02:53 PM Items can be re-smelted using a bloomery, the same way as iron nuggets and meteorite bits. Most items can also be broken down into bits using a chisel, and then smelted in either the bloomery or a crucible. The exception here is steel, which can be broken down into bits but cannot be smelted back down. Nothing currently in the game gets hot enough to melt steel.
