Hi, mi name is pupiki, recently I been having this idea in mind that i want to switch from Windows to Linux (MINT), but bassicly i just work and play VS, its one of my favorite games oat. SOOOO i wanted to ask here, ¿Is it actually better to play modded VS in Linux than in Windows? (Performance, moded, Fps- Wise)

THANX.

Welcome to the forums!

Personally I am not sure how much of a difference there is performance wise between the two OSs (I use Windows 10 and Ubuntu 24). I think the hardware is the bigger factor, and while I am sure Linux does give an edge, I am not sure how much it matters.

I have seen mention of some things not behaving like they should on Linux, but I have not personally experienced anything that did not turn out to be user error lol (like not understanding how to properly make zip folders for a while lol).

A lot depends on your hardware and temperament. Linux distros tend to be a little slow to add new hardware support, so if you are on newer equipment, you may be better off on Windows. Especially if you are running Windows Enterprise, where you don't have to beta test their sloppy updates. If your hardware is a couple years old, Mint should be fine, though often the Flatpak release is delayed. If you are OK with not playing the absolute latest release, probably fine. And if you are interested in a modded version, that's probably how it works out anyway, waiting for the modders to update.
