Gaelyn Posted Friday at 01:00 AM Report Posted Friday at 01:00 AM There are various ways that this could be done. I will leave it to the devs to determine the best way to implement such a feature, but I feel that being able to transport fish without killing them is extremely important. Currently, the only way to do this would be to make an extremely elaborate water pathway and attempt to herd the fish through that pathway, which simply isn't feasible. I was hoping that the ability to catch fish with the fishing pole in 1.22 would solve this issue, but the fish immediately die upon being caught, i.e., a dead fish is added to the player's inventory instead of a live one. I have the materials needed to make an aquarium capable of housing all of the beautiful and interesting fish I catch, but no way to put fish in that aquarium without the use of creative mode. 7
marmarmar34 Posted Friday at 02:19 PM Report Posted Friday at 02:19 PM If something like this would be added, they could do it like how you transport hives and full traps. Let's say when you catch a fish, you can put it in a bucket for live transport. Then you just need a free bag slot to transfer it to your preferred location! 3

I agree that this is one way it could be done. They would still probably need to make it so that a fish is alive when you catch it, though—at least for a few seconds. It is a bit awkward for a live fish to be loose in one's inventory (prior to being put into a container), but we do already have this with the wolf pup. Alternatively, the devs could add some kind of fish trap that catches a fish and which you need to use a bucket on in order to collect the trapped fish (or perhaps you could add the entire trap to your backpack slot, depending on what kind of trap it is). Again, there's so many ways that they could implement this. As long as the devs implement it in some way or another, I will be very happy. 1

Would be neat to see something like that implemented! Edited Saturday at 01:56 AM by marmarmar34 2
