Voxellian Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 A wooden axle block that behaves like a normal block, so a room can be registered. Right now, as far as I can tell you cannot have an axle going into a room. You need to make the windmill outside.
Brady_The Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 (edited) You'll be happy to hear that in-wall axles will be a feature in 1.22. If you search for "Mechanical power upgrades" in it'll bring you right to a gif in which those are included. It's a bit harder pretty much impossible to see, but the two outer most gears are connected to axles. Edited March 1 by Brady_The 1
Voxellian Posted February 28 Author Report Posted February 28 Thank you. Wow, for the amount the coming update adds. It seems bitter sweet update for me. It adds a lot, while I am still trying to get my grips with the current game version. I just finished my first windmill; connected it to quern. It's about 10-15 block above ground. Hardly moves. I miss Minecraft redstone farms. 1

I miss Minecraft redstone farms. I feel that. The quern shouldn't require too much power. If it is not completely windless it should rotate. It might require more than one set of sails, though. I can't say that I have too much current gameplay experience. I am still waiting on some (content of some) mods to be updated to 1.21. Edited March 1 by Brady_The 1

Similar powering it from the bottom is better then from the above. Wind is also important as same location just get more wind then the others. But from my experience even two sets of sails should be able to move quern at wind speeds like 30%+. 1

One set of sails is enough to turn a quern if the windmill is high up enough.
