thee_ox Posted Saturday at 03:21 PM Report Posted Saturday at 03:21 PM It would be cool if there was a lasso feature added to the game. This could help players round up livestock from the back of an elk, or maybe even help hunt bears. It could even be an interesting mechanic if the lasso could work on other players. 1
LadyWYT Posted Saturday at 05:42 PM Report Posted Saturday at 05:42 PM Lassos, especially when used from horseback, tends to be something that came to prominence in America and Mexico during the days of the "Old West". Given that Vintage Story is set in the medieval period, it'd be a bit anachronistic, but I don't think it's entirely out of the realm of reason that someone could have figured out in the VS setting either. That being said, I wouldn't want to rope a bear--that's just asking for trouble. 2 hours ago, thee_ox said: It could even be an interesting mechanic if the lasso could work on other players. It would be interesting, but likely for the wrong reasons. It'd be fun for pranking friends, or perhaps PvP scenarios, but more than likely it would be used to troll on servers.
WanderingStoryteller Posted Tuesday at 05:27 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 05:27 PM A lasso would actually be REALLY useful! However, lassoing a bear (or a moose) would not work if it's just one person holding on with one rope. One bear is a lot of muscle to hold back; you would likely just be dragged, and for chickens it also wouldn't make sense. But for medium-sized creatures like the goat, sheep, and deer, this would be so useful.
