Bas_de_draak Posted March 19 Report Posted March 19 Basically the title says it all, but I would really like to see something along the lines of animal tracking. Wether it's early or late game, I always find it to be really annoying that when you're hunting and you've hit an animal causing it to flee that there is nothing that guides you as to where it went, no trail of blood, no footprints. Especially with smaller animals it gets really annoying as they tend to disappear through the underbrush after getting a spear through the chest, which would prompt quite a bit of bleeding irl. It's mainly this bleeding mechanic that I would like to see as I think it's the easiest to implement rather than footprints or foliage damage after running through branches. 1
PoisonedPawn777 Posted March 19 Report Posted March 19 Would be a nice addition. I expect we will see an overhaul to some of the hunting mechanics at some point. In the meantime, there is a mod that should give you what you're looking for, haven't used it myself but looks up to date to 1.21. Blood Trail - Vintage Story Mod DB 1
DakotaGrey Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 More hunting mechanics would be amazing. The problem I see is it needs to be triggerable. I think seeing blood all over the farm as you cull the herd would be too graphic for some. In some of the hunting games I've played you can trigger a highlight of nearby tracks and blood. This could be a nice workaround. Distress calls in the distance would probably be a bad idea, but they could have louder footsteps. 1
