Swigglez Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Hello, Finished hosting this server a few months back (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-vS-D_uiQY) and now that the new update is out, I am looking to go even bigger! Wondering if there's any tools to create custom worlds like by painting the landscape, or what methods people use for this? Trying to re-create Erebor next server and I need a massive open plain filled with ruins and a single gigantic mountain stuffed with every type of ore. Of course, not to forget a lone river coming from the mountain. However, I'm having a hard to finding direct ways of doing this. I know of many YouTube series where they have seemingly custom maps, yet I have found a surprisingly lack of tools or options in my search. Also of high importance is I want this world to be a sort of re-usable template accessible without or with different mods. Not sure this is possible, but I would love to export the stonework and have the map usable for future projects, especially once the mods are out of date and/or new versions release. Any help is greatly appreciated! We are at the point where we will likely just custom build this using in-game world-edit however I am scared it will become unusable between mods, especially if we employ one of the many terrain generation mods as a template. Dilan Rona Posted March 25 Report Posted March 25 Problem is if you have a world that uses one set of mods, and you move that world to a different server with a different set of mods, the worst case you will have is blocks that the game does not recognise. And you need to use creative mode to destroy some of those blocks otherwise interacting in the normal way crashes the game. My advice, keep the mods the same if you are moving the world from one server to another server.
