Hey folks!

Will we ever be able to achieve somewhat the quality of MC's shaders? I know there are some mods for VS out there like VolShading and Coriaender. They are good, but simply not on par with MC.

Maybe the better question is whether it is actually technically feasable with the game's engine?

I really love this game but the weird shading effects of either base and modded sometimes bug me...

Pretty decent sunset although below average for a game not even 10 years old...

...and then these extra weird ones ....

... and where MC's at .

Comparision "Volumetric Shading Refreshed". Although I use it, i rarely get a sky like that. Maybe 1 out of 10 times.

i mean, im not sure if there is a 'correct' answer to this question but i would say that the community of mc is much larger and the game's focus is centered much more onto building. this leads to a community that cares more greatly about visuals and making their builds look cooler. so shaders have come alot further in that regard. where vintage story is clearly alot more about progression and survival so the community focuses on that over things like shaders and texture packs. though i would say world generation mods are about as good if not better for V.S. it is most definitely possible with the games enginge though, as you have managed to obtain an image of similiar 'epicness' even if only 1/10 times. speaking of which that could be because vintage story has simulated weather and different areas have different cloud coverage/rainfall amounts and extremeness as well as longer/shorter sunsets depending on time of year
p.s.
Vintage story is incredibly optimized and thats a big deal for alot of people. optimizing shaders is quite difficult especially if you want them to be up to these standards.
