Darragh the Tireless Posted June 1 Report Posted June 1 I wanted to remake some buildings from kcd 2, started out with Henry's forge. Took some liberties in some sections cause i suck at building, but i think it looks pretty close 10 4

EliteSlayer9659 Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 Hello! Do you have a list of materials you used? I'm trying to replicate this build on a multiplayer server I'm on in a town where I'm the town smith so it only feels right to use Hungry Knight's forge! 1
Arsenik Milk Posted June 9 Report Posted June 9 That looks amazing! My favorite part of your version is the little blue detailing on the back. It reminds me of ancient Greek decorations. Little fun fact that I thought was interesting in my learning of medieval architecture: that "brick wall" is actually just painted daub and plaster, painted to look like it's brick. Bricks were really expensive back then, such that very few buildings actually used them. If you look closely, you can see the painted lines, as well as the lines fade out around the doorframe, the extra thick line around the "cornerstones" (just painted white), and some of the faded lines around the bottom (as well as some of the paint fading off onto the cornerstones in areas. So, if you wanted to make the build pointlessly less convenient to build (and probably less visually appealing) but marginally more historically accurate, you can replace the brick with wattle and daub and just paint the lines on! 1

Sorry for the late response to this, wasn't actually expecting anyone to try and replicate this lol. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the world due to it getting corrupted, but I know the blocks I used, though not the quantity. Large Red Bricks (Running Bond) Large Cream Bricks (Running Bond) Support Beam (Oak) Granite Cobblestone Oak Planks Leaded Glass Pane (Oak) Plaster Whitewash There were some blocks that were added from mods as well- - Better Ruins - Cream Ceramic Tile (Plain) Plaster Whitewash (Used different textures to get the colors on the backside of the house) - VS Roofing Mod - Plank Frame (Oak) Wooden Shingles (Oak) 1
EliteSlayer9659 Posted June 16 Report Posted June 16 No Worries! I was mainly asking because I hadn't realized when I posted that Whitewash was being used! But thank you for replying anyway! 1
