Commission: No, I have no money or programming knowledge to make this happen, I just think it would be a cool thing to play with.

Idea: Since I've been playing with Realistic Water and Healing Hotsprings mods, I was bummed out that I can't build a cozy hot spring bath house in my world without searching and finding a rare hot spring... Then I started thinking about how nice it would be to have a bathing mechanic, in a way that leans towards being cozy and immersive rather than annoying or intrusive as hygeine/bathing mods tend to be. I think implementing it the way I'm proposing would compliment usual survival gameplay and offer players a moment of earned comfort and levity between the more stressful and grindy tasks of the game...

Proposed Mod Features:

- An OPTIONAL hygeine need that could be turned off in the config, for folks that just want the bath stuff without being forced to take a bath all the time if they don't want to. The level of stank buildup could make prey animals run from you at higher distances, and carnivores chase you down from further away. I would avoid adding any visual element like the green particles and flies seen in other hygeine-based mods (or at least make them toggle-able in the config), since those are notoriously very annoying and laggy, and the feelings we want to inspire here are comfort and relaxation.

- You could create a new type of water, "Bath water" which could be made by storing regular water inside of a special boiler tank which is heated with firewood or charcoal. Then you could remove the water from the tank with a bucket, and place it down into your bath area.

- The water would have a configurable length of time in which it stays hot, offering some sort of beneficial buffs to the player as long as they're standing/sitting in the water. It could be used to increase player's heat during the winter, or give a small amount of healing, or a little speed boost to simulate that energized, fresh feeling after a nice hot bath. Just some small incentive for bothering to bathe and create bath houses at all.

- After the length of time is up, the water would cool off and become used bath water, which isn't good to drink or use in cooking, so the player will want to get rid of it. Using a bucket on the used bath water would scoop it right back out, and then the player can dump it elsewhere.

- It would also be nice to have craftable towels which can be used to dry off when the player has "soaking wet" debuff, and could be placed as ground storage or in a shelf/cabinet space.

Extra Fluff (Stuff that would be awesome but at this point my brain is just running away with ideas that aren't strictly necessary):

- For a little extra immersion, you could have an additional ingredient slot or two inside of the water boiler, where the player could add different flowers/herbs to create "Infused Bath Water", offering variable effects based on ingredients. I'm not sure how doable it is, but the water could become subtly tinted to give it a more herbal spa vibe. You could even have soil be added as an ingredient to make it a mud bath??

- New flowers/herbs that are both visually pleasing for gardening purposes and functional for the infused water feature mentioned above

- I don't know how to describe this one besides... bath garnishes?????? The player could sprinkle flower petals or something on the surface of the water for the sake of setting the ambience and just making it look pretty.

Thanks for checking out my suggestion and if anyone does make this PLEASE let me know because I'll be thrilled. I'm not looking for any sort of credit for the idea even, it would just be a really fun thing that I don't see implemented in this specific way basically ever... I think we could all benefit from gameplay mechanics that add immersion without making the game more punishing and tedious in the process. Vintage Story is already a really intensive, grindy game and I love that! I just find myself wanting to make my house that I spent one billion hours building a little more cozy and rewarding to spend time inside.
