twynn Posted July 30 Report Posted July 30 I was in my setting , keybindings looking around changing a couple of things and somehow i managed to change my escape key bind to something and closed right out of the box. I eventually found the settings.json file and could see it was key 97 ctr false shift true. so with the ai help...that small a with a shift so the keybind should be shift+a. But it doesnt. Neither does just a or any combination of both shift keys by themselves or with the other will make my "escape" key or setting key open my settings. I changed it to 27 which the ai said was the escape key, closed and saved the .json file. Closed VS. reopened VS and still cannnot for the life of me find any combination of keys that will do what the escape key used to do. My next step is deleting that file and running a scan file on it, ah but its not on steam so i dunno if that will work..might just have to uninstall/reinstall?

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't touch the settings file. I screwed up my settings one time and I had to delete my settings file as well. I deleted the file and I think it was automatically replaced when I started the game the next time or maybe I had to do a reinstall to get it back. I can't remember. 1

No matter what i tried it would'nt generate the settings.json file, which had the "hidden" lol hotkey for the escape key. I could not find it. I even tried to install the game on a seperate hd and copy paste the file but would not work. As I said ended up having to just get a fresh install. thanks for the help. Have a good one.
