maculator Posted August 13 Report Posted August 13 Craft a probe stick out of 3 regular sticks, ricktclick the ground and it tells you how many soil blocks are there between you and the first rock layer. If you deem it worth the effort, based of your probing, take your hammer in your offhand and a support beam in the other hand and start driving that thing into the ground. If you have enough of them in you inventory you will eventually hit the rock layer and turn the whole collum into a kind of quay. Do this with along a line and you got yourself a quay wall, protecting you and the pit you want to dig from collapsing soil. 2
