Hal13 Posted January 20, 2021 Report Share Posted January 20, 2021 Especially in the mod release subforum links to other topics break regularly, because with each update the topic name gets changed. I've seen in other forums the use of unique topic IDs has proven to be the best solution to such a problem. The idea is generating a unique and static ID, when a topic gets created, and only to use that ID in the url. No matter how often the topics name changes, the ID does not and therefore links to the topic never break because of just a name change. in some forums links won't even break if the topic gets moved to another subforum. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
