Ultimate_Waffle Posted February 28, 2022 Report Posted February 28, 2022 Just for immersion purposes really, I can understand people thinking this is pointless. It further gives the impression that you're a wild man/woman if character creation limits you to unkempt hairstyles and facial hair. Then when you get shears (can shears be used as scissors?), you can access the more "civilized" styles. When you get dyes, you can change your hair color. 2
staryoshi06 Posted March 1, 2022 Report Posted March 1, 2022 The seraphs are not human, hence the unnatural hair colour. It would be cool to be able to change hair midgame using specific tools but I think keeping the variety of customisation options at the start is good for player choice (you can always pick a more unkempt style yourself for your own personal immersion :P).
Ultimate_Waffle Posted March 1, 2022 Author Report Posted March 1, 2022 I do understand the player character is not human. I just figured, if this idea were to be considered, that either some hair colors would be considered unnatural or maybe they all remain natural, but the option to dye it is there later on.
daretmavi Posted March 3, 2022 Report Posted March 3, 2022 I like the Idea. It a small thing but nice for immersion Hair, ... could grow over time and you could change your style according to the length. 1
Hal13 Posted March 26, 2022 Report Posted March 26, 2022 Seraphs are not necessary wild people, they literally teleport into the world with each login and teleport out of it when leaving the game (it even is said so in the logfile). Sure one could say to keep the hairstyle, when staying in the world for long times without pause you'd need to have a comb and shears, but that is a massive amount of programming work for nearly no added immersion benefit. as early as after making a knife and getting some wood you could easily craft a comb and you don't need shears to cut hair, you can use a knife or seashells, even shaving is no issue with those. Similar with dying the hair, sure some colours could be considered artificial but dyes aren't that complicated (of course with exceptions blueish dyes and bleaching before applying a new colour definitely are) anything in the reds can be made with little effort when reaching the point of early agriculture, for example beetroot juice is used up to today for that purpose. Growing hair and having to maintain the hairstyle are nice things, but at beast it's something for polishing at some point, when mechanics are mostly finalized and only aesthetics are something that needs to get some more tinkering. 1
Seryi Posted March 27, 2022 Report Posted March 27, 2022 Я считаю, что неестественный цвет волос Серафима не мешает погружению. Идея использования ножниц для вегетации волос очень интересна
