  1. Best thing to do is to increase animal diversity and make bears much more rare. I don't see that happening any time soon unless the community asks for it more often.
  2. What do you guys think this texture generation tech will be used for in later updates? For any game, I'm always wanting more creature variety, not just butterflies.
  3. That's great that it's already built into the game rather than being a mod. How about dropped items when other players kill you? Do most servers use that corpse mod that drops a skeleton upon death that can't be modified by other players? EDIT: Also, hopefully, a UI for land claiming will be added in the future. I always find all text based commands janky to use.
  4. I'm hesitant on playing this game in a server because I feel like if I do, all of my created items and resources will either get stolen or destroyed by other players. The game that I'm thinking of that prevented that is Blockland, Any placed items cannot be modified by other players unless they're trusted by the player. This is more of a problem in Vintage Story than Minecraft because the resources in this game requires a larger time investment to acquire them. I'm also keen on a system that gives players their own section that can't be modified by other players.
  5. I just gone through the same thing. I tried generating four worlds in 1.18 and they're all quite ugly to me. None of them look as nice as my 1.17 world. There's a lack of normal looking plains and forests.
  6. I was able to generate a the new resonance area in my world as per the instructions on the update page. Is there a way to do the same for a hot pool? I read a bit about migrating to 1.18. Can anyone link me further instructions on that if that's what I should be doing instead?
  7. I've read the frequently suggested topic and "Removing the crafting grid completely" was one in the list. This suggestion would be a compromise. Such a system would speed up crafting significantly without needing to remove that classic Minecraft style crafting grid. The crafting grid would serve as a sort of vetting/unlocking system to confirm that the player knows about a crafting recipe or has done the research on it. Once unlocked, the crafting recipe will appear in a scrollable menu that lists all of the possible recipes that could be crafted from the inventory and from nearby containers, just like in Terraria.
