  1. Hello everyone, I've been playing Vintage Story for about a month and a half now and I'm loving it. I guess I just wanted to give my two cents in regards to a thirst system. Some people love the idea and some people hate it. I think I'm in the later. I would not like to manage another bar, but I would like to be able to do something with the juices we're able to make. So here's my idea. We already have a system for cold damage/freezing. I think there should be a system for heat exhaustion. Rather than a full on thirst bar, when it gets too hot drinking water or juice would help reduce heat stroke (along with other activities like jumping in water or sitting inside). That way it would be absolutely critical for you to have water when travelling through hot arid areas without having to juggle another bar. Anyway, loving this game and I have faith that if you do implement thirst it will be as thought out and robust as the rest of your game.
  2. Oh really? I turned them off for my last session and played one or two nights but didn't see any. Maybe I got lucky? It's winter now so I'm trying to stay inside more at night plus I did add a couple of outside lights to my base. I'm better with having them spawn Minecraft style though. I swear every night that was medium rift activity or higher I had a swarm of 3 - 6 waiting for me at both of my entrances practically breaking down my doors. It was a real pain when my house was much smaller and I had to keep non-perishables outside (oh, I need to cook tonight... nope I stacked the firewood outside and there's an army at the door. Guess I'm eating raw berries again)
  3. I second this. I would like to see either shearable sheep or alpacas. I would like wool to be an alternative to linen for clothing repair and crafting. Plus maybe you can weave tapestries or rugs. Also highland cows, just because I love wooly cows. Other suggestions: painted or stained woods more clay colors / decorative pottery tea (taking hot tea with you into the cold can warm you up slightly on the go but it doesn't stay warm forever) over heating in hot dry areas, similar to freezing in cold areas (this can be lessened by jumping in water, going inside/under shade or drinking something non alcoholic) (I don't know if I'm in favor or a full on thirst system but getting dehydrated in the heat makes sense) flowering bushes you can plant that attract butterflies deer (they will eat your crops like rabbits, but you can harvest meat and antlers if you kill them)
  4. Hey all, so I've been playing VS for a little over a month now and absolutely loving it. So at the start of my current run I allowed rifts and now I'm rethinking that option. I like that rifts make travelling at night scarier but I don't like that I can't even go out on my front porch on a high rift night without getting swarmed. I'm not a big combat person. I like building and exploring. I'm just wondering how many of you turn off rifts?
  5. Hi, new player here. I was wondering if you can irrigate your farm blocks by having water under them or does the water need to be at the same height to count? Thanks for your help.
