  1. Oh yeah, i completely agree with you there, it really sucks, especially early on that the merchants ask for materials or colors you don't have and that cancels out the whole deal, i think they should be desperate like us for the tools. I was going to suggest something to do with the mount mechanic but i didn't think it would be considered seriously, even tho i'm all for a travelling merchant mount with fancy luggage, extra decorated leather pouches and what not. I was even considering the possibility of making a Trading Depot where you could sell your own stock, but i know it's mechanically complex, and perhaps shouldn't be reserved only for a merchant club, but the mechanic takes inspiration from Dwarf Fortress.
  2. I've been playing this game and got a lot of friends to play aswell. One of my favorite things to do when playing multiplayer with my friends was managing our trades, making sure we have stock of easy to trade items, gathering and accounting our Gears, keeping track of trading times, and bringing home useful items from said trades. i was thinking of a starter class trader that could have benefits in haggling, bartering, etc for 1 passive i thought it should be easier to travel from trade to trade so he could get the 10% movement speed bonus. for another, maybe being able to detect merchants from a certain radius with some sense and or item. maybe an ability to get a discount at shops for rapid trading over time, so it won't spoil the early game, but will give you some benefits from playing your role. of course, as debuffs like all classes get, he can be penalized in melee and ranged combat, and have a little less health. finally maybe as a craftable item, some sort of special clock that'll let you keep track of when merchants resupply, as well as a unique bag that can carry extra tradable stuff like coal, or honey. lemme know what you guys think.
  3. Hello, i've been playing vintage for a while and has been loving it, i convinced around 6 people so far to play i have just been thinking about making more helmet options for the steel plates varient, not different stat wise but rather just the looks i told my friend about this idea and he suggested a black/whitesmith class that would be able to shape those helmets with some tool he could make but that's just a concept. i am also aware that the dev of the game is probably flooded with requests and developing the game with their own road map, but thought i might aswell suggest it anyways. thanks anyways.
  4. well, i agree with everyone, it's kind of funny, first save i had: -little copper impossible amount of copper, so little terra preta i was beginning to think it was removed from the game, second time playing with my friends on a server, the land is literally made of lime as far as the eye can see, a copper vein that lasted from the first day til mid winter, enough iron to build a house from it the moment we look for it, frankly the only reason we don't have steel is because i didn't bother looking into how to make it so far because i was making sure we all enjoy the iron age... and i also agree with the ocean needing some treatment, since the game is very... atmospheric in nature, im sure it'll get priority at some point but yeah, larger bodies of water, mayhaps shipwrecks with old seraph treasures, or a treasure map as loot, shark that would be scary and i love scary things... sorry if this post is a bit less organized than before, i lack some sleep
  5. Dear Developers and anyone else who might read this: I have played solo and multi for around 200~ hours all together so far and will keep racking more hours. i have REALLY enjoyed what i have seen so far, and would love to see where the game goes, i got the supporter add on and convinced 2 friends so far to get it aswell, and they also had a great time, for now everything i thought should be improved is already marked in the roadmap being better food, more meaningful character classes (more exclusive recipies), improved lore (i even wrote my own little head canon from what i could gather), better combat system and more unique weapons you could make like spears, maces, clubs, two handed swords, smaller shields, etc) making potions and maybe even a thaumaturgy system you could explore in the later stages of the game, even more clothes because the fashion is great, and finally -maybe an easier way to work with the prospecting pick because me and my buddies had to remove entire mountains with copper picks to advance into the bronze age and that was a little bit unpleasant and really took the wind out of everyone's sails. (that being said i do acknowledge that the game is more towards a realistic approach in terms of advancing between the ages, but still) and that's really about it for now, i hope to post more i'm usually a bit shy when it comes to posting on forums but this game really blew my mind so much that i HAD to get it off my chest, especially after playing minecraft for like 12 years now and immediately finding this game to be better because the stuff you do actually feels meaningful and everything serves a purpose which creates a beautiful harmony where by the fact that i NEED to make a house to survive, a barn to keep animals, farms, i make works of beauty that really look amazing and are functional, which is usually something that minecraft does not provide, so thank you. -Hip
