I'm enjoying my 'common' rain area that I've setup my abode. Was quite weird last night with a thunderstorm happening in the game while an IRL thunderstorm was happening outside. The thunder hitting in game while a slow deep bass rumble was felt from outside made for a neat experience.
Aside from turning to snow, I was wondering if the rain was seasonal at all?
By seasonal, I mean, does the intensity / frequency change throughout the year?
Would be awesome for the rain to be mapped to a skewed distribution that related to time of year/climate.
Was looking into the viability of a 'rain gauge' mod, but if the rain algorithm is just a RNG variable (taking into climate frequency) then any long term data would just be a squiggly line with no interesting pattern.
The idea of checking and emptying a rain gauge just seems on point for this games pace and it's idea of deliberate and methodical processes that become rewarding over time.
