  1. Welcome to the forums! There is indeed a way to make blocks smaller! You need to make a chisel and a hammer, then hold the hammer in one hand and the chisel in the other. You can then chip blocks down to any size and shape you'd like!
  2. Even still, this doesn't change the fact that they don't seem to have a mattress or pillow! It looks like it's just a blanket on a solid wooden frame.
  3. A super simple solution, but the Warm Robe doesn't really live up to it's name. It's only +2 degrees like any other coat, when it requires both fabric and a hide to be crafted. I think it should at least be +3 degrees. +4 is too much and makes the reindeer herder set redundant. This would make it a viable competitor to the fur coat, which holds the current major winter clothing monopoly. On another note, the woolen shirt should probably be +2.5 or something around that. It's only +2 despite being lined with wool.
  4. If you mean the maple log looks like it's in VS, I agree. Though without the VS shaders (since Minecraft doesn't have shaders) does it seem to anyone else like it's a little.. compressed? I think there might be a little more .jpeg-ification on it's pixels, if you know what I mean. It looks flatter almost. Like it's painted on, maybe that's just me though. I think it's definitely a custom texture pack for Minecraft using textures ripped from Vintage Story. The landscape outside the house and through the windows is a giveaway, as they feature only Minecraft textures and Minecraft-like generation. While it could be argued that may just be Minecraft textures applied to VS, the lack of shaders and distinctly Minecraft-esq generation makes me think this is not the case and that this a texture pack inside of Minecraft. The shingles on the roof of the house though.. That's not a Minecraft or Vintage Story texture. I don't know where that has come from.
  5. While you could always start a new game, I personally don't view this game as having a set "win" or "lose". Sometimes I'm straight to the iron age, sometimes I stay with bronze for a while depending on circumstance. Sometimes if I get a build I'm working on complete, that will classify as "winning" for me. If you are talking purely in terms of progression, I suppose it may be worth restarting. Though who knows, maybe you'll suddenly find a translocator that will take you to somewhere with tin readings. Translocators could be your key to success here, you'd just have to get quite lucky with them.
  6. I'll look into that, I probably have too many .png's uploaded. Thank you!
  7. You can see the Minecraft wooden planks texture on the inside of the windows on closer inspection. Also the door and bed are Minecraft, and the whole screenshot has no shaders, like Minecraft. The photo of outside the house also resembles a Minecraft landscape.
  8. With a hopper and a display case, anything is possible...
  9. This image is absolutely insane, is this a Vintage Story texture pack for Minecraft?

    Why bother

This won't ever happen in singleplayer, so it sounds like you tried playing multiplayer as your first experience. While multiplayer can be super fun, I'd recommend learning the basics in singleplayer first. Wilderness is the hardest difficulty. Maybe try setting it a little lower if you're having trouble. Don't worry, lower doesn't mean the game will be easy by any means! It just means you won't be under so much strife.
  11. The snow goggles are a cosmetic item in-game, but considering how blindingly bright the snow can get, I think it would be a cool addition if they could also be worn in the head armour slot to dim the screen's brightness as well as being able to be worn in the mask slot purely for vanity. To account for this new use, maybe make them sold by Survival Goods traders. I'd upload an image of real life Inuit snow goggles, but my upload size is still for whatever reason capped at 14.5kb, so if you'd like to see what the snow goggles are based off of, you can just Google that.
  12. I would love to see fancy bottles and scroll racks able to be used to hold them. It would also be cool if the Artistic Bottle could hold alcohol. It sits on the counter in my tavern, and I'd love to have it actually contain some liquid. I really like this idea, kind of like how you can wax cheese, you could bottle and cork alcohol.
  13. Perhaps you could be able to craft clutter beds with linen to slightly brighten the colour of the sheets (they are now clean) and make them able to be used with stats the same as the wooden bed. I get that the aged wooden bed was added before the clutter beds, but I mean come on, it doesn't even have a pillow! Plus, I always find it with mould on the surrounding blocks, which makes it even grosser.
  14. It never used to be like this, 14.5kb is such a small size that I can't upload any images unless they're super compressed into a mess of pixels. Does anyone know if I have messed up a setting or something? It used to be around 600kb, and now it's 14.5kb.
  15. I know this is a suggestion mostly for immersion purposes, but it always annoys me that you cannot sleep in the clutter beds. Maybe it would be game-breaking if it was as 9.5 hours like the aged wooden bed, but it could be good it was 7 hours like a straw bed, or maybe 7.5 because the straw bed is easier to obtain. Either that or you could lie in them without actually falling asleep. Just a little thing for immersion. Plus, that one with the quilt looks pretty comfy compared to the aged wooden bed.
  16. This is a modded thing, drifters normally cannot open doors or gates in the vanilla game.
  17. I think this game probably handles hunger the best out of any survival game that I have played, aside from maybe Rain World, though hunger is a main gameplay loop in that game so that's different since it is a core aspect of that game. Having the health bonus for a varied diet is a really nice way to add variety to a hunger system, and is something that I really like in this game. The fact you may only have to eat maybe two or three times per in-game day is also SO much better than Minecraft, wherein you need to eat every time you sprint for ten seconds. It makes cooking meals feel interesting and immersive, rather than an irritating and meaningless slowdown to gameplay.
  18. Imagine sitting in a design meeting and someone goes "Hey! Let's punish the players for playing the game and instead force them to right click a bed every so often!" It's kind of how hunger works in that certain other block game too. "Let's punish the player for not stopping and holding right click every two minutes!" I really don't like whatever this type of game design is called.. Agreed. Also, isn't it canon that Seraphs don't need to sleep?
  19. I'm a huge fan of putting logs into crates since they normally only stack to 16 and can quickly clutter regular chests. Still, a menu would be appreciated.
  20. Yeah, our server is completely vanilla, so this slab must be in the base game. That's what I thought too, I know he did some TerrafirmaCraft stuff a while back. It's like how the Vintage Beef item is a reference to the youtuber of the same name.
  21. So a friend of mine found the Etho Slab on our server. Apparently this thing is a one in a million drop from mining clay, but I cannot find much about it when I look it up, so it does not appear to be well-documented. Here are some screenshots of it. --- Ok, so for some reason the forums are being strange and I can't upload any images larger than 74kb, so all I can do is upload this one. I will try and edit this post later to add more. ---
  22. As cool as this would be, I would rather such behaviour reserved for an extremely uncommon enemy. Having to deal with a common enemy type stalking you at night would be scary at first, but could quickly become annoying and repetitive. Reserving this behaviour for a very rare enemy would add to the tension of being out at night - it probably isn't there, but can you really be sure? Perhaps if you stability is low enough you could start seeing glimpses of it around you too, even if it isn't there.
  23. You can already do this with and clothing with "tattered" specifically in the name. (NOT in terms of durability). That is: -Tattered linen shirt -Tattered crimson tunic -Tattered peasant gown Surprisingly not the torn riding pants, though I do like the purple colour they have. I wish there was a full-length version, I would totally wear those.
  24. Who knows, he does shrink into the distance once the temporal storms end!
  25. These are all so cool!! I'll have to look into making my own chair designs soon, I just finished the exterior of a tavern that I am making and intend to do custom chiselled tables and chairs inside. These are definitely really nice inspiration!
