  1. Wow, I'm really excited about the beehive kilns and have already been using the beehive kiln mod for a while. Also the eclipses are a really nice touch
  2. In addition, there's currently no heat penalty in the game unlike the cold penalty. So enjoy running around in the 40 degree weather all day long with no ill effects.
  3. Yeah I sleep through the majority of my temporal storms when I'm not hurting for temporal gears. To build onto my last comment, I think there needs to be more of a reason for players to endure temporal storms. Perhaps each temporal storm advances you closer to some sorta lore element? In their current state they're only good for obtaining temporal gears and the occasional Jonas part.
  4. In my opinion, hot climates are the easiest. No wolves/bears and no harsh winters to prepare for. Your main threat is hyenas which only aggro when you get within a couple blocks of them and will scram as soon as you slap them. Termites and bamboo shoots are excellent sources of early game survival food. When you're ready to garden, soybeans will give you year-round protein, pineapples year-round fruit, and rice year-round grain. If you're under 40 degrees in the summer, flax will happily grow all year as well. Bees seem to be a lot more common. Deserts are excellent for spotting surface ore deposits and traders. Etc, etc.
  5. Lol, this made me chuckle. I'm currently trying to "indoctrinate" a couple of my own friends.
  6. When it comes to bears and wolves: flight before fight. Don't try holding your own, just turn around and run. You can outrun wolves pretty easily, and you'll lose bears by climbing some terrain or jumping into a nearby body of water. If a pack of wolves are camping out in a place you need to go, craft a bunch of flint spears and pick them off from a safe distance.
  7. I think temporal storms are a neat concept and tie in with the game's lore pretty well, but from a gameplay perspective they need a redesign. They're interesting the first few times, but the longer you spend in your world the more they become downright annoying. Nothing makes me more frustrated than when I'm in the middle of a large project or am journeying away from home and I get the dreaded "a temporal storm is approaching" popup, which completely throws me off of whatever I'm doing, forces me to sit around several minutes waiting for it to begin, then makes me spend a few in-game hours running around fighting repetitive drifter spam. I get that this is a game that isn't supposed to be convenient and cater to the player at all times, but man, after you gather all the temporal gears you need, temporal storms are just lame.
  8. I'd love to see electricity in the game as well.
  9. The grasshoppers sound a lot like rattlesnakes to me instead of harmless insects...
  10. I've come to echo the sentiment that nerfing mining speeds wasn't the best move.
  11. I don't bother much with spawn proofing, only for dealing with temporal storms. I don't see how there's any getting around the fact that temporal storms are just a death sentence in their current form. Unless you have access to some of the best late game armor and weapons, there's simply no other option than to bury yourself and wait for it to blow over. It seems as though drifters continue to get buffed while a major balancing blindspot continues to be ignored.
  12. Dang, drifter stone placing meta is finally a thing of the past. I'm torn on how to feel about this, on one hand it's always been an exploit, on the other hand I feel like drifters and temporal storms make early game brutal and having no defense against their spawns isn't great either.
