try using dotnet 7 from microsoft, that's what i did and then it worked. Download .NET 7.0 (Linux, macOS, and Windows) i used dotnet 7 from here and it worked just fine. Since some times versions on repository are modified versions and not official. Also make sure that user vintagestory has premissions to run and read required files outside from it's folder and not just have rights to execute.

make sure that the server itself is 1.20 not older, since 1.20 won't work on older versions. You may need to open ports in your local router if your trying to host one from home, since windows defender only does windows end, so if you have router. Then you ned to do the same there.

make sure you got dotenet 7 not 8 or newer. When i made a server and i installed dotnet it had issues on starting too, but it was because i had dotnet 8 and newer.

Ty, but fault wasn¨t the update afterall. After struggeling my dedicated server actually modified a folder for dotnet versions so it was empty, so i had to kinda take time to solve it and once i did it finally had a folder version in that folder and then server begun starting up as normal.

i saw that but i didn't get how to use it, but it would look better with plain locks than this with key or keypad code etc. idk if it is from a mod but when i type door i get padlocks but i cannot get them working on doors anyway

Sadly this update for server is broken, whole vanilla copy of 1.9.8 server just won't start.

I would like to see a way to lock doors so that when you built a house others cannot enter execpt for you with a key that you use on a lock that sits in the door itself if possible and you unlock the door with key and you can open and close it until you lock it again. It is also fine if keypad and other locks are added if possible to the game. 2nd is to add locks for chests and such as well.

Just wanted to see if anyone here is swedish?
