  1. I also thought this would be a fine addition! Another idea I think would solve a problem in VS is knowing the temperature of a given place and its maximum and minimum temperatures throughout the year. Imagine shaping/crafting a glass test tube that can be used for a variety of crafts, but for a specific craft to make a thermometer. Thermometers use alcohol or mercury for the liquid, and mercury is naturally found in cinnabar so you could craft it from that or alternatively you could use aqua vitae as alcohol to craft. When placed, it will measure constantly and record the daily max/min temperatures but also the highest recorded and lowest recorded temps. This could show you how cold it gets at night and how hot it gets in the day for farming/when to know to put on winter clothes. Also the highest and lowest temps could tell you how cold/hot the region gets during the solstices (middle of winter/summer). The balance is you would need to let the temperature reach that solstice to record it, so if you placed the thermometer in summer, you would only know the coldest temp when a winter passes.
  2. The other day when I was first using bloomeries I saw as I hovered over one that you can bake the flint in there too! I was usually just cooking the flint in a cooking pot and wonder if cooking in a bloomery is more efficient for coal/charcoal. But also uses fire bricks that you are trying to make in the first place. Edit: I just checked and you can do max 6 flint for 6 charcoal/fuel per bloomery, doesn't seem worth it.
