  1. Hello everyone, I’m working on a prison setup and I’m having an issue with players escaping the jail and respawning at the default spawn point. Is there a way to change the respawn point for specific players, and even make it permanent? I want to ensure that if someone is in jail, they respawn at the jail location and can't escape easily by respawning at the main spawn. Additionally, is it possible to mute a player only (so they can’t chat, but still move around and play the game)? I’m looking for a way to silence them without fully restricting their gameplay. Is it possible to do both of these things via command or with any plugins? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  2. I have edited the post. I received a response from a VS Staff member on it. Also you are legend, 3hours to fill in 10k x 10k thanks
  3. I know it might be an unpopular suggestion, but I think it would be amazing to introduce some kind of air travel system, not involving airplanes or flying suits, but rather hot air balloons. It would bring a sense of old-fashioned, slow-paced travel around the world. The balloon's movement would be influenced by the wind and weather, with harsher conditions adding risk and danger to the journey. Building something like this would take time, so it could be a great late-game feature for players. Imagine traveling with a group of players inside a balloon across the wastelands—it would be an incredible experience! Let me know what y'all think about this idea
  4. I plan to keep my server map longest possible, was worry it will get in to 500gb or 1T when it gets to 100k x 100k but its really hard to calculate and i think if developer answear on this it would be amazing, they might know something that we dont know + some of data are encrypted.
  5. I think its more about render as map not a view distance if i have server and load all chunks 10k x 10k i would like to know how mutch GB it would be in total in disk. - looks like this will be really hard to pull off and calculation, and only dev might know number. **map rendered and saved in file**
  6. I need this update like an alcoholic needs his daily intake—without it, my day just isn’t complete!
  7. Update : I have made 32x32 world in size of one chunk, (default) settings load in and then quit to look on save file size might this be correct calculation of one chunk? lets say it has 1.500kb or 2.000kb
  8. I believe it would be most beneficial if one of devs could provide an answer to this, they likely has more detailed knowledge about the numbers for specific game map sizes.
  9. I’m curious if anyone knows how large a fully rendered Vintage Story map is in terms of GB. Specifically, I’m wondering about the size of the map after it’s been fully explored and rendered. Any insights would be appreciated! I have heard from people that ( 1km 1000 blocks. ) 10x10 km world: Around 5-10 GB 20x20 km world: Around 10-20 GB 50x50 km world: Around 25-50 GB 100x100 km world: Around 50-100 GB or more 500x500 km world: 200-500 GB (or more) 1000x1000 km world: 500 GB - 1 TB (or more) Edit, got message from one of VS Staff. Thanks for that! I didn't expect someone to do a 3-hour and 10-minute test and render how quickly it would get in terms of GB on a 10k x 10k map. You’re a beast! so 10k x 10k is around 3-4 GB
  10. Okey it looks like i only have to do /wgen regenr 7 to reset chunks in 198x198 area and it reseted whole place, amazing simple and easy. now new player on my server can enjoy same thing
  11. Yea, i think recovering materials from clothes would be amazing.
  12. Hey, do you know anything about map management in Vintage Story? I have a server where some parts of the map have already been discovered. I’d like to reset a specific area, like a large ocean, that has been explored and affected by destruction. My plan is to reset this area once version 1.21 is released and stable. Is it possible to reset just that section without affecting players’ bases or land claims in other parts of the map? I want to ensure their progress is preserved, but I’m not sure how to go about it. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! @LadyWYT @Thorfinn
  13. You are best, thanks! and happy new year!

  15. It seems the forum and the game have separate logins, from what I've observed. You log in to the forum using the main email and password you created. However, when you click on the "Client Area - Download" section, you will be redirected to a different website where you'll need to log in again. Sometimes, this can cause issues if a password is mistyped or a different password is created for the separate login. For clarity, I use the same email and password for both the forum and the game to avoid confusion. Hope this helps!
  16. It would be fun if they added a major threat, like a one-time "Herobrine" character that randomly appears near your base once every 1 or 2 years. This character could scare you or do something horrible, like casting a storm, spawning special monsters, or giving you a limited debuff with custom noises and music.
  17. quick guide on how to use land claims in Vintage Story, and it takes under 1 minute and 30 seconds. It’s easy to follow and designed for new players, with no stops or distractions Commands : 1. /land claim new ( opening ) 2. /land claim start ( first corner ) 3. /land claim end ( second corner ) 4. /land claim grow up *number* ( cover are above ) 5. /land claim grow down *number* ( cover are under ) 6. /land claim add ( if is green - you are on good path if is red someone have already land claim near that area ) 7. /land claim save *name* ( you are done ) 8. /land list ( for more info about your claims. ) Happy New Year 2025!
  18. What is your personal stance on hot air balloons? Would you love to have them in the game as a new way of transport? Of course, it would be a late-game transportation option.
  19. I need inject my yearly update can't wait
  20. I think they are too easy.
  21. sometimes I think, that you are undercover developer.
  22. Can't wait to see the pain and horror. Love it! The difference between the Minecraft 1.20 update and the Vintage Story 1.20 update
