  1. Thanks, but that doesn't really answer my question. I already stated I was aware of the fuel burn times as they are stated on the item. It is when you put them into piles and light them that you get an odd result.
  2. I noticed the same thing. It kind of sucks because I spent time trying to find anthracite coal for my steel furnaces so I didn't have refill them as often; but it doesn't matter what you use it all burns the same in that case.
  3. When I encounter something that doesn't make sense to me I just switch to creative and spawn in the item I want. Once I accidentally messed up a steel pickaxe by one voxel. I would have accepted a pickaxe with lower durability, but instead that metal was now completely useless. I switched to creative, spawned in a completed pickaxe head, and went on my way.
  4. I personally haven't had issues recovering support beams, but this was from a world that was started in 1.20.
  5. Hello, Here is a list of server commands that you can use to help with this problem. There may be something in here that could make a player more resilient. https://wiki.vintagestory.at/List_of_server_commands A simple way could be to switch yourself to creative and spawn in some steel armor of your choice. This way she will be much more resilient to any enemy that can spawn and practically invincible to lower level enemies. The commands are entered into the text chat box. /gamemode /gamemode [0..4|guest|survival|creative|spectator] Mode names can be shortened to any length. Sets your game mode: 0|guest Guest mode - Cannot place/remove any blocks but can interact with them 1|survival Survival mode - Can slowly break/place blocks. Can die. Cannot fly. Survival inventory. 2|creative Creative mode - Access to all blocks through the creative inventory. Instant block breaking. Cannot die. Can fly. 3|spectator Spectator mode - Cannot place/remove blocks and cannot interact with anything, but can fly. /gamemode [playername] [0..4] Sets the gamemode for given player. My experience is from being an admin on a personal server with some friends. I haven't tried using the commands in single player, so if you run into a problem you may have to do some research or get someone else to help you out the rest of the way.
  6. You might just have to fill it in with packed dirt or some other block low enough that you can't hear them anymore.
  7. It does not seem to. I am currently in a 1.20 game and my windmill tower has blades in all 4 directions. They seem to add power normally.
  8. Does any one know if actual piles of coal (brown, black, anthracite, and charcoal) have different burn times? I know that the coal burn time when used in fire places and (maybe) forges reflect the burn time on the stat cards, but I put coke, brown coal, and black coal next to each other on the ground and they all seemed to burn for the same amount of time. I then tested charcoal on the ground and it burned for way longer than the 40s on the stat card. I just want to know if this is a known thing before I spend more time investigating.
  9. The biggest thing for steel is getting the required components for the steel furnace. Once you have that up and running, actually making the steel is mostly passive. The furnace just needs to be refueled every so often, and repaired between batches. Once you get the blister steel you have to process it like iron bloom except it's already ingot shaped and it has way less impurities so it's actually pretty easy. One helve hammer will process blister steel no problem. That being said, I got to steel on a multiplayer server so I was able to focus on smithing and mining exclusively, and it still took me 2 in game years. Now that I have experience I could probably make it much sooner. I would say making steel for tools is worth it as you don't have to process as much iron due to the huge durability boost. Agreed, hopefully there are rivers soon so you can use a water wheel. Windmills wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for needing so much flax. I like bronze because it is much easier to process than iron. The metals that bronze uses can be a bit hard to find but you don't need to get a bunch of fire clay for the bloomery. Of course the durability of iron makes up the difference in complexity.
  10. I have found that tule is rare enough that it doesn't even really make sense to every try to use it for roofing. Grass is literally everywhere. Also it kind of sucks that thatch roofing takes as much effort as it does. It is certainly more accessible than other roofing types but it takes a lot of grass or tule to make. At the end of the day it's cosmetic so I guess it doesn't really matter.
  11. I think bronze is a suitable upgrade to copper. If you find a tin vein then you can use it to make a lot of bronze. But there is no doubt that iron pays off better once you get fire clay going.
  12. you can use rope to lead animals around. Be warned i have encountered multiple glitches with it.
  13. Yes, but what I haven't been able to find is if enemies count as armored. If the enemy is not armored then the attack tier of my weapon is less important than the HP damage. For instance a tin bronze falx has an attack tier of 3, but a tin bronze spear has an attack tier of 0. I pretty much ignored the spear because I thought the attack tier would make it a bad choice against drifters, but I haven't been able to verify that.
  14. I noticed that the weapons have different attack tiers. Are those relevant against enemies, or is it just for determining damage against armored players?
