Can anyone explain a few mechanics of skylight to me in a few situations? I tried making a 14x14x14 greenhouse and it actually was somewhat working for like the first 2 floors, but by the time I finished 3 floors and was working on the 4th something stopped working.
Obviously a solid roof or something would decrease skylight and whatnot, but what if its a layer like 50 meters up? Will the skylight of things below be affected? If there is a point when skylight isn't affected by something directly above it, when would that be? (see pic 1).
If the roof is solid soil but the 'walls' are solid glass, is there like 1-2 horizontal spaces where skylight isn't affected or is the skylight already cooked for anything inside (See pic 2). I also tried using glass slabs where the water would be but I'm already assuming skylight decreases through the water so I'm not being very hopeful there.
When I'm standing on a tile and try to highlight rooms, apparently the spot I'm on counts as a room? I can get the whole greenhouse to be a room if I'm hanging on a ladder nearby, but does walking around in my greenhouse affect room detection and thus ruin the greenhouse while I'm there? For some reason I seem to generate a lot of 1x1x1 rooms in here and I'm not sure if that's some kind of bug or I did something weird to my greenhouse.
