    The info is in the .json files for each animal. They can be found in assets\survival\entities\land\, wherever your VS data saves to (I think the default is Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\VintagestoryData).

    Most animals have separate .json's for the male and female (and young). Look for "spawnconditions" in the male animal file because the females and young spawn in as companions to the male.

    I'm sorry that I don't have the knowledge to be able to help further. Fortunately Streetwind knew the answer to your question about temperatures/climate.

  2. I felt the same way (that you're expressing) about farming being gated behind the copper hoe. Stroam made an independent stone hoe mod (probably to shut me up 😅) and eventually the stone hoe was incorporated into the game. Although in that case there was some sort of philosophical issue about stoneage farming being too easy, or some such. *shrugs*  But, good grief, irl you'd just poke the seed into the ground with your fingers or maybe use a stick to break up the dirt a little bit. So I get where you're coming from. Just try not to let it spoil your outlook on the game... it will get there. The Team can only work on one aspect of the roadmap at a time, and different players have different priorities which is where mods can help fill in the gaps.

  3. Are you asking how to create a new world using a previous world's settings?

    If so, I posted how to do that here.

    If not, then I am sorry that I do not understand the question.

    eta: But please realize that updates sometimes contain new configuration options; those won't be included if the previous world was created in an earlier version.

  4. Hmm. Then it may be a bug. Just to confirm:

    1. You did restart the game (for the command to take effect)?
    2. What do you get when you type in:  "/worldconfig temporalStorms"  but without the quotations? [it should say that the value is set to veryoften]
    3. How long did you play before deciding that there are no temporal storms in your world?
    4. Are you playing with any mods and, if so, which ones?

    The answers to those questions may help someone knowledgeable be able to help you further (sadly I am not knowledgeable).   5. I recommend taking a look at Stroam's comments about worldgen for Ashantin's video, "Vintage Story Preparing To Start A New World E1 Customization Choices" (there are only 8 people commenting so it isn't hard to find).

    In her more recent video (in response to requests that she share the seed for her new 1.18 world), she says that it took many tries to spawn in a world she was happy with. She has specific requirements though, like not favoring some types of stone.

    I've been watching Hypi's youtube series ("Hypnotique AKA Hypi" channel) of 1.18.0 and she has been using ProspectorInfo successfully. If it is broken for 1.18.1, I bet it won't be broken for long as it seems pretty popular. I'll have to give it a try!

    Yes, it's been there for a while. Maybe since 1.16?

    Since that setting has been available, I've been setting copper to Uncommon and did notice a change (as I noted above).

    The line he references is now something like 392 (of the bear.json) if using Notepad++.

    eta: There used to be easy ways to edit the animal .json to set maximum number generated to zero. It may still be there, but I didn't see it in a quick glance. Someone else may know.

    BetterRuins just got updated within the past hour, and is said to fix some sort of crash.

    Ancient Dungeons will be updated this weekend.

  10. I had the same experience in 1.18, finding copper very rarely and then it be only one copper bit. That was with an "uncommon" setting which is what I usually choose. However one deposit had the largest amount of surface copper I'd ever seen. So.... not sure what to make of it yet.

    Wolf spawn can vary. I recently had a nice seed (1.18 pre-7) and restarted for a favorable trader. There had been a gorgeous wildflower spawn within a nearby arena ruin and there were also wolves in the forest next to the ruin. The restart had neither wildflowers nor wolves.

    This is the first time that I've noticed this happening. I don't know if it is new or not.
