I see. Follow up question: when you say travel south, does that mean I go "down"? I always start in warm climates. I guess that means I always start north?

In creative mode, I was shocked to see all these different tree types, purple-something, redwood, ebony. Very cool. But 300 game hours in, i have never seen a single one of these trees. Where are they?

a couple wacks with the curvy sword thingy and they are down. With iron, it's 2 hits. Easy kills.

I am a fan of the terraforming approach. Maybe because I have two massive iron mines around me, I have unlimited iron tools. strategy: shovel + pickaxe = make a 1x2 straight light through the mountain

So, I am playing with the update in creative mode and I notice there are new colors for clay items. Red, Tan, black, orange.... etc. When I make some in a fire pit, i get brown. So how do I make the other colors?

molds are better for lower metals but by the time you get to iron you have no choice but to smith.

Lesson learned. Before making this thread I didn't even know about shields. Don't know how I survived without it.

Iron. I have so much iron it's crazy. Found 3 different mines and each seem to have an limited amount of iron! The only world changing mod I have is the dungeon mod called Ancient Dungeons (Th3Dungeon)

I don't really understand the chisel yet. But my question is... if I use the chisel will the fence still block mobs from crossing?

Most are in deep caves, had one in a surface cave once. Either way, I struggle to kill em.

Yeah I get the walling off strategy. But with the Dungeon mod, the point of them is to explore the dungeon. It just so happens that there are Sawblade's in the hallways! They are blocking me from my LOOT!!

So, I went and invested in full plate armor for caving. I have a dungeon mod and they are really hard. When I got down there though, I am still getting 3-4 shot by the Corrupt Sawblade Locust. How are we supposed to fight these things!?

When I bought his stock, he had 1 day to resupply. Then he resupplied but his stock didn't replenish.

I bought all of the honycombs from an ag trader and sold him a sythe and knife. All good. He replenished his stock, I could sell him a new set of sythe and knife but the honeycombs did not replenish. How does that work?

I know this is an old thread but this point: What does making the helve hammer out of iron do differently?

Built a basic windmill, it has 8 sails (2 lots of sales). It's 4 blocks above my house level. The Windmill sail power is 40KN. This basic setup allows me to use a VERY SLOW helve hammer. I have two questions: Without adding more sails, how can I increase the speed of my helve hammer. I tried building the sail 8 more blocks higher and its SLOWER! How much power does a helve hammer need to be at it's max speed? I cannot really find numbers for power output vs power requirements. For example, my sail power is 40. Does that mean my generated power is 40? And how much of that 40 is used by my helve? Thanks

In the case where it's poor Borax (I found one of these), should i be digging down and searching?

Interesting, okay I will look around then. Yeah Chromite doesn't go higher than "Poor", which sucks.

I understand prospecting well, i have found copper, iron etc already. But I found a new iron reading in a new area and the best reading is "Decent". In all directions it eventually turns to nothing. Does that mean "Decent" is the best reading for this area? In the image, the red box is the best reading. All other readings get worse.
