I know this is probably more harder to implement in this stage of the game. But having a steam powered train or cart would be a amazing way to travel longer distances in late game. I'm not talking about mine-craft cart travel. I'm referring to aged or ancient steam powered trains with rails already set up around the world, in mines and on the surface that would need to be repaired to be utilized requiring late game items crafts. I know the But having a steam train would fit in quite nicely in the late game. * Pic is the Stockton and Darlington Railway 'Locomotion' (1825) *

Black, kidney, pinto beans for stews and add on's to scrambled eggs and meals. Would add more variety to cooking and survival mid - late game.

I don’t mean to be a jerk. But I appreciate ur response. I just wanna make sure if ur a dev. I just don’t wanna lose 50+ hours of my world because of a rollback.

I updated to 1.20.12 because I heard it was just a performance update. But now my base makes audio as if I’m underground constantly when I enter it. My world’s lighting also broke and everything went dark as if I’m underground. But the lighting was restored when daybreak occurred (I’m a year into the game). Do you think it’s safe to rollback to 1.20.11 or will I break my save?

I'm new to the game and I found alot of peat near my established base, but not sure if its worth hoarding for my first winter. I was advised to keep 4-6 stack of charcoal and a bunch of stack of logs. which shouldn't be a problem. but I'm concerned about spending time gathering peat and grass to keep in storage. My main concern is food. I was late with my farm and only found 10 blocks of high fertility soil and immediately grew spelt in August to later make some bread for storage in my cellar (I'm in the process to mine for copper and getting the glorious saw). The issue is, I'm not finding much in terms of substantial red meat sources as from the occasional moose every month. I found loads of wolves and a bear and some fish tho. But game meat isn't worth much since i can't cook meals with i, Its just keeping me alive. Any reason i should go for the peat knowing that i'm crunched on time? P.S. I found a bunch of chickens and a rooster! i brought them back to base and made a chicken coop. Just trying to finish up my saw to make troughs. Do my chickens die if i cant feed them in winter or freeze?

Probably been requested till exhaustion, but can we have a way to lure bigger animals? like meat for wolves and bears and grains or vegetables for goats and deer? Would help flesh out the hunting mechanic and obviously the lasso to capture adult goats for my cult.

I'm surprised this hasn't been implemented already.

For someone that's an adult and has to work full time. It gets hard to find time to play. So sometimes I go a week or two not finding time to visit my game world. The issue is I tend to forget what i needed to do and lose precious in game time to prep for winter for example. Having a writable journal would make life so much more organized and we wouldn't need to find clues as to what i left off at before every game session. Thanks in advance! P.S. I know there's mods that solve this. But this feature should be in the vanilla game considering how intricate the mechanics are.

Yea, would be great if the game had native support for xbox controllers.

There should be a mechanic or negative aspect of eating wolf, bear and racoon meat. Especially considering these aren't eaten in real life for this reason. Maybe increase the overall yield of herbivore meat by 1 or 2 to balance this out? But eating racoon meat or a dead carcass without any parasite or disease risk shouldn't be a casual option to a person's regular diet. Even if its a survival situation.

Animals shouldn't despawn in valid "rooms" even in total darkness

I agree with the OP -
Yes, this would really nice to have in a built cottage for the vibes!
