I have tried it in the past but didn't really enjoy it, didn't like how it basically deposited resources at your doorstep, and as it spawns around the player, the area around base gets covered in craters and can end up looking quite ugly so it became a nuisance, also had some meteor jank too. TLDR Tried it before, not really what I had in mind.

I've had the idea occasionally bounce around my head that it would be cool if you could come across some massive craters, like a dozen or perhaps even dozens of blocks across on the high end, preferably have them be rarer the larger they get, so its a rare and exciting thing to stumble across. Whether it be linear or exponential rarity as they get bigger idk.
