  1. For anyone else still wondering about this, the steps above ALMOST got it working right, but found a way that makes it actually behave like borderless fullscreen with no issues after. it just involves going to that same config file, and changing these options: screenWidth: [Your monitor's pixel width, mine is 2560] screenHeight: [Your screen height + 1 pixel. so mine would be 1441] gameWindowmode: 0 windowBorder: 2 (sets to be hidden) The Important part here is to make your height 1 pixel taller than your monitor's resolution. because if you set it to perfectly match your monitor, that seems to somehow make the window behave like standard fullscreen, even if you set it to "windowed". so by making your game one pixel taller than your monitor, i suppose thats enough to make it behave like a window, while still being fullscreen and also hiding the taskbar. its a very crude method that i found by just trying stuff out, but this is the only solution i could find that had the exact result i was looking for, without being a hassle to set up. the settings you make here will stay as it is as long as you dont modify any of the window settings in game (and maybe remove the "toggle fullscreen" keybind to save yourself the trouble) if you end up changing any of these settings by accident, you just have to go back to the config file and redo those settings i hope this can be helpful!
