The bloomery gets at least to 1500C This will glow bright hot and just about any "natural" fuel will sparkle like that as bits burn off really hot. Normal firewood also makes sparks like that as it burns in the real world.

Hi, and welcome to the forums!
Baby animals in this game will seem to mature on their own without support. I think you really only need to feed animals to get them to breed. I've had baby animals trapped in a pit and abandoned still grow up!

I just tested this in my creative mode game, and it doesn't work. Can't seem to mix and match ores in the same bloomery.
I highly recommend having a separate game in creative mode for testing stuff like this before you risk precious resources in survival. I like to start the game in normal survival, then switch it to creative back and forth with:
--to switch it to creative.
/gm 2
--to switch it back to survival.
/gm 1
