  1. seems like a very good early game power set up that would fit right in! the windmill is awesome, but all that flax is hard to come by when you just get started, and waterwheels are an even more primitive tech that we've been using for way longer. Especially considering the new water-based updates, i dont see why not (unless to stay away from cliches in That Other Block Game... >_>) i guess balancing would be an issue, but having an opportunity to "scale up" without cheesing it (1000 block high windmills for that sweet max powa) would integrate the mechanics system more firmly into the game. maybe water-wheels are less efficient output wise, have a max amount of machines you can attach to them, or even unable to do certain tasks entirely. just been something ive been thinking about. thoughts? edit: just read through and saw this is both mentioned in the faq and the roadmap, which is very exciting!
  2. this is genuinely one of the only things the game feels like its "lacking" for me. making clay forms was the thing that drew me in in the first place, and i was a little disappointed to find it wasnt a customizable process. honestly, even just allowing patterns to be inlaid into clay forms that are already in the game (as in using red/blue/fire clay to create patterns during the forming process) is all i really want. it would be a really neat way to add some personal touches to the world, as well as being able to use multiple clay forms in one container being a really useful feature if you happen to run out in the middle of making something. imagining a starter base full of mis-matched pots and vessels that you just cobble together with whatever you have... xDD this would also mean pit kilns would allow the clay colors to be reflected rather than just when you use a bee kiln. i think the colors definitely should be mute (or even somewhat random?) when fired in a pit compared to the proper thing, but it would be nice to have some early-game options for a little bit of color too.
