  1. ---- theres people working on this for now ---- Mod Title: Adjustable Ore Spawning Mod Version: 1.22.x commission: possible - paypal open to discussing feasibility, implementation, and pricing Short description: So basically the mod should do the following: make it possible to change which ores spawn in a certain direction relative to spawn / latidude. more direct: For example let it be adjustable to set all bronze required ores to south of spawn. all iron related ores to spawn only northwards. Preferably in an adjustable function / and or provided basic adjustment for the curve along which ores spawn.( linear, quadratic, asymptotic etc) The curves should be configurable, and the spawn chance should decrease again after passing the configured peak. It must be possible to set the probability to exactly 0% outside a designated spawning region. Motivation ( ignore for mod ) I'm missing a way to prevent players from hard rushing all ores, without having explored the world or hardlocking items - and also want the possibility to add more suffering to people's lives on no map servers. i'd want to expand on this mod other modifications that would add certain enemies spawning in warmer/colder / further away zones from spawn and prevent traders from selling ores and pickaxes or ruins spawning a lot metals, and have people stay in a certain range of technology for a longer time than the first ingame month. supposedly for hardcore servers that will lack a playerbase after 1 week anyways. Image png attachment for first clarification Replies for modwork id prefer on my discord, (as i'll probably snooze on opening the forum again) : freshgandalf_ ( im also on the vintage story discord ) BAREBONES: Adjustable curves for spawning the following: iron ore to the north / all tin-related ores, including quartz deposits, to the south (adjustable). Concentric circles for copper with adjustable width, spawn chance of the ore and repetition distance, and number of repetitions. Addendum 1: Additionally it must be able to suppress the other ore spawns not specified to spawn to 0. So if you'd set tin ore to only spawn southwards, then all other areas would need a 0.0% chance to generate tin ore of all kinds. not 0.01 or an arbitrarily small number. Addendum 2: It should be possible to let ores spawn in concentric circles around spawn OR a randomized starting point for the circle within the specified copper ring repetition zone distance. For example i would want the copper ores to spawn every 4000-6000 * r blocks, so that the highest percentage of copper ores would be at 5000 * r blocks in a ring shaped area. Then repeat with the next ring, but applying a factor which alters the thickness and spawn chance of copper ore in the ring so, that the closer to the poles / equator the ring gets, the less width and the less ore there will be. Where r, width and repetion distance could contain a little adjustable randomizer to not make those rings a fixed occurance in every world / be calcuable by the player beforehand. So richer ore circles near spawn, sparser copper circles further away from spawn, none near the equator and northpole. for simplicity this can be applied to east&west distance from spawn too. (-> affected by Addendum 3 for repeating rhichness in next equator - pole zone) Addendum 3: Past the specified points of the highest set spawn chance relative to geographic points ( for example north & south pole / equator) the set chances have to decrease again. So if you would go north, you start finding little iron ore. The further you go north the more you find, until you have the highest concentrated iron ore deposits directly near the north pole. However, if you go further north again past the north pole, the spawn chance of iron ore should decrease again towards the next equator. Similarly, the same principle should apply when going towards the equator for bronze ores. This applying to the chosen polar/equator distances when making a new world. Addendum 4: Everything ( ore types, spawn density, max-min spawn chance, distance to where spawning should start) to be adjustable. So if youd only want all ores to spawn in a certain direction, put them into a category and have em go. This should include other ore types, like coal or sulfur too. Addendum 4.5: Have a toggle to only affect metal related ores, and leave all other ore types like coal and sulfur etc to be vanilla. Addendum 5: Mod presets - 1. one for vanilla ore generation 1.1 copper ring generation, with the highest % in the middle beeing vanilla 100% ore gen chance. ----- 2. linear progression 3. asymptotic near poles for the baseline scenario of : all iron ores north , all bronze ores south. Addendum 6: config lib compatibility Addendum 7: make those curves and circles not just be relative to spawn area, but to latitude / geographics as a adjustable setting to turn on and off. As in a setting where the highest spawn chance of iron ore is truly at the north pole, no matter if you set spawn to the south of the world or wherever else. Addendum 8 - optional - Geology Additions mod support, but must suppress all surface spawns of ores added by Geology Additions mod Honourable mention: Northern ores mod which is the basis for the idea behind this mod.
