  1. I have side mouse button bound to zero and keep it empty for this and similar purposes.
  2. Yes, Sand > Soil > Cob/rammed. I really enjoy the soil instability and cave-in mechanics. I would take it further so cob and packed dirt need support directly below! Then they can make walls but not ceilings, which should require a little more resources, but not copper age. For example giving a use to roofing tiles aside from decor. And having to use stone or wood supports for intermediate floors, etc. This gives an associated function for each type of block... Dirt, you can dig a hole but not too big. Sand you need supporting walls. Crafted dirt makes walls but not ceilings. (Cob is too simple and cheap to build the whole house! First night you should see the stars and far terrain but within your safe walls or formed hill.)
  3. How do I stack flint? When I press sneak it just goes into knapping mode. I want to stack them onto ground storage likes stones and sticks.

    GOTY 2025

Just want to say this was the 'new' game I enjoyed most in 2025, my Game Of The Year! It just captivated me so much right from the start! My favorite genre is survival crafting, with games like Green Hell, Raft, Don't Starve, Subnautica, Sons of the Forest, Project Zomboid, Stationeers, Valheim, Terraria, The Long Dark, Oxygen Not Included, and Ancestors among my all-tme favs. I always wanted the original Minecraft to be less cartoon-gimmicky, and more survival-crafty. This is it! This is what I imagined it should have been. Thanks to the devs! P.S. I haven't gotten far enough into the game yet to appreciate much of the story or higher tech tiers, looking forward to what awaits.
  5. Thanks!
  6. Hi, new player here: I found some chickens and caught a rooster in a trap near my outpost cave mining base, and I wanted a hen who was nearby, but the timer on my trapped rooster was running low, so I thought I'd drop off my rooster friend in my cave for a day while I got the other chicken. So I put him in a room with a torch and fence gate, also behind a crude door, and went away. When I came back, my torch was still lit but he had despawned, leaving no corpse! I didn't want my animals despawning again, so I looked up how to use debug commands to check if I had a "room" to stop despawn, so long as i had a torch nearby. And I learned also that solid blocks or better doors were needed. But shouldn't there be more visible feedback for such an important mechanic?
