Later in the game once you've finally crafted a lantern, it becomes a bit tedious to light campfires or forges, since you no longer always have a torch in your off-hand. You basically have to keep crafting torches anytime you need them, or make sure you always have one in a torch holder nearby for convenience. But like, why can't I just open a little door/latch on my lantern and use the fire already inside to light things as I need? Just swap it from your off-hand to use it for igniting, just like you would with a torch. I don't think it's cheat-y or too overpowered either, because by the time you've made a lantern you're already in mid-to-late parts of the game anyway. I recommend this change mainly for quality of life and to make the game feel a little less clunky. I've always felt having a lantern over a torch was just more annoying, despite its benefits.
