cant join my own server says i need to be whitelisted but it says to whitelist players i have to join the server and type their playername and whitelist in the chat bro wtf

It was tricky to reproduce, but after a deep dive we deployed a fix in End of July, and we haven’t had whitelist issues. If you’re still affected, please reply here with the ticket number. We’ll jump on it and get to the bottom of it right away.

just bought a server , i cant whitelist myself on my own server , no one is answering the tickets , really disapointed

Very EZ server dashboard right in your main menu. EZ to navigate, EZ to acces everything you need for playing with your friends. 10/10. Its not for big servers, but its enough... Thank you for this solution.

Bought a server, can't even join the server. 

2 people and it lags so much you can't see any monsters, hits don't register, then you die from being hit by something you can't see.
playing on a 1 gigabyte line in north america.

[Response from @MarkusVS]:  Thanks for the feedback—and I’m sorry about the problems. With our servers currently only in Europe, we can’t materially improve ping to North America right now. We are evaluating US locations, and want to offer something very soon, but don’t have an ETA yet. For what it’s worth, many US players—even on the West Coast—report smooth performance; routes vary a lot by ISP and region.

The official dedicated servers are a bad joke at the best of times. I highly recommend going through the hoops of setting up your own server, even with a dial-up connection, it will perform better than the official ones.

No mods, not available for US west

It literally could not be any simpler. 

I'd personally like possibility to upload mods and have more settings available but price wise, speed of setting everything up and simplicity. 10/10. 
It took our group 10 minutes from purchase to playing on our very own server. 

Despite being in America on a very... Questionable internet Connection, things are very enjoyable and there are no major latency issues.

Service was simple to sign-up for and simple to manage.

Very happy with the purchase so far, the game is so deep that I don't need mods, not to enjoy it as I do with friends.

I’m thoroughly disappointed with the performance of this official hosting server. Even when playing solo, I frequently experience glitches and severe lag. My character appears to move, but in reality, it’s stuck in place leading to frustrating deaths from wolves or drifters purely due to lag. The situation worsens when other players join the server, with lag spikes extending to an unbearable 30-40 seconds, making the game practically unplayable. This is supposed to be the official server provider, yet the quality is far below expectations. I can't recommend it for anyone looking for a smooth, vanilla experience.

very convenient and easy to use 

It's a functional and very easy to set up service. It runs consistently, never any issues (past the first set up when it kept messing up).

I have a two massive problems though. Also one tiny one.

• Wonky and not-persistent world settings. I've had to kill the server and create a new world multiple times over until the world settings persisted as I had set them. Turns out the problem was that once you click on the 'world settings' section, it begins mangling stuff with default settings and persistently makes them as such.
• Lack of mod support. There's something to be said when 3rd party providers have more potential features than 1st party, although I'd be glad to uptick the rating to 4 stars when it does have that. I understand that it initially described not to have mod support, although I didn't expect a lot of things in the game to be always a little aggravating.
• What are the server specs? Bit of a nothing-burger, although it'd be nice to know what VH is packing in comparison to the competition.

If all of these problems were fixed, I can definitely see my rating to be at 5 stars. For now though, it's mediocre.

Mediocre, functional, quickly up and running in its purely vanilla configuration.

It is absolutely outrageous, we were 2 players we have very good internet for German standards, but synchronization problem it is so outrageous 10 euros for the service is already cheeky.  .
-Ps: if it changes with the performance I will add it.

my opinion of the server has partly changed, i think it's good, the synchronization has improved. only when i realized that no mods work and these things were hidden at the bottom i was a bit disappointed.

Es ist absolut unverschämt, wir waren 2 Spieler wir haben sehr gutes Internet für deutsche Verhältnisse, aber Synchronisationsproblem es ist so unverschämt 10 Euro für den Service ist schon frech.  .

meine Meinung zu Server hat sich zum teil verändert, ich finde ihn gut die Synchronisation wurde besser. nur als ich realisierte das keine mods gehen und diese Sachen unten versteckt gefühlt stand war ich schon ein wenig enttäuscht.

The steps they have listed are wrong or something is just messed up here. I bought the server hosting a day ago, and I'm sorry but you can't say press a button and play because we've been trying to get it working for almost 4 hours now. I don't know what you guys want I give my friends the IP address, I give them the name and password. I follow as the page says and download the server stuff and pressed a button. Yet I'm still in a world alone with no one. We keep getting errors of not being able to connect to the host or that our party isn't responding. I'd appreciate some clarification because I bought something that says I didn't need to know how to do computer stuff for this reason.
Had to come back and edit this beacuse we tried to reset it all and now I'm not on my own whitelist so screw this I'd like a refund or for someone to help me soon.

Great server with almost no lag despite being across the great pond. The only reason im currently not using it anymore is due to no mod support. (currently)

Moin, Preis- Leistung stimmt definitiv für einen Server, auch wenn wir "nur" Vanilla gespielt haben, lief er trotzdem flüssig und stabil.

Während der Serverperiode gab es nur einen Crash den ich durch stoppen und neu starten in nicht einmal 5 Minuten behoben habe, ansonsten gab es keinerlei Probleme.

I love the game but the experience I had trying to connect and then have my friends connect right after paying for a server was extremely disappointing. I never succeeded after trying over and over to join and then trying to have my friends join. I also messaged support for assistance while mentioning a possible increase in server time due to the trouble but I don't know if they'll do anything like that. I got an email today (6 days later) saying it should work now but I don't think I care at this point with the time spent and the past frustrations. Going to ask for a refund and maybe check out a host that does support mods/has US servers.

the game is amazing and setting up the server couldnt have been easier but for someone in NA the lag is just too much to ignore and makes it unplayable. would not recommend for those outside europe until they can get US servers

J'adore le jeu dommage que l'on ne puise ajouter les mods directement avec le panneau alors je pense que je vais Herberger mon serveur sur un autre site j'espère Revenir ici quand vous aurez modifié car je pense que vous perdez beaucoup de clients . C'est un super jeu . Sinon continuer  comme sa toute votre équipe.       

No North American servers. How hard is it to do this by now.....

I find it good to have made servers available to play with these friends simply the only problem I find is that adding mods is very difficult or impossible even though it is one of the main assets of this game except that the server works very well

day 1 worked, day 2 an existing connection was unexpectedly closed by remote host. going to kms bc of this, but fr i am close plz fix

Works, is simple, convenient and has all the base server features needed and necessary server commands.

Been playing on this with a friend for a few days now. I live in the western USA and they are in the Eastern USA. We have very little problems with lag, although it is there and can sometimes get bad, we haven't had any game breaking issues and overall are having a great time. My internet is gigabit speeds and theirs is 500mbs, so the connections are kind of different but we have little issues actually playing. The UI for the server in the main menu is nice and easy to understand, and you can customize your world the same way you would for a single player world. I highly recommend using this if you are looking for a fun vanilla experience with friends.
