Works like a charm and can't be easier to setup.
We split the price between the players of our group so it is very affordable this way !

Yeah, it's pretty good.

Only mild issue is no mod support, but that's fine with me.

It's also relatively low cost!

shite server shite connection no mods

Overall, I am happy with my experience. As an Australian, there is some desync, lag, and general connectivity issues, but that was mostly expected. The server was up and running as quickly as advertised, which was appreciated. Most of these issues are likely due to my location, and others may not experience them to the same extent.

Mod support would be a great addition in the future. Other quality of life features would also help, such as a server console for the host and a clear player status showing how many players are currently online.

I have experienced item desync issues where items occasionally duplicate, disappear, or reappear, especially when moving items quickly. I suspect this is related to latency. I also lost all items once on death after a fight involving a wolf, where we killed each other, though this only happened a single time. On one occasion, I crafted and equipped a full set of clothing, only for it to be reverted moments later, with the clothing unequipped and the materials returned to the chest. I also usually need to restart the server or rejoin at least once per play session due to instability. This helps temporarily but does interrupt longer sessions.

This is minor, but it would be nice if the start button were greyed out while the server is running. I have accidentally clicked it when trying to join and ended up restarting the server on my friends.

One last thing, I was disappointed with how fixed the server world rules were once the world was created. I expected settings that do not affect world generation to remain adjustable, such as spawn radius, grace timers, death penalties, and item timers. Having more control here would give the server host greater flexibility. Having the server keep multiple backups would be nice too.

I absolutely love this game so much! And being able to play with friends makes the whole experience so much more for me. It's great since we can all work on our own tasks to benefit everyone. One person clay forms, one person hunts, etc. It's a great way to play while also helping with some of the grinding!!! 10/10 :)

Works pretty well for me and my friends in the US despite the servers being based in Europe. Would be cool if we could get mod support, but I understand how that can be a lot. Haven't personally ran into any issues with downtime or serious lag so far.

Perfect for a vanilla game with friends, do wish mod support was a little better and you could upload worlds though.

It worked wonderfully and once I'm not broke I will definitely get it again. Might wait till mods are useable.

The server hosting is realy nice, but sometimes there are chunks that become invisible and never reload again. Our houses get split in half because of this and we dont know how to fix it.

Somehow whitelisted out of the server that was bought? Cant seem to find a solution for it either.

No command panel and doesn't make you admin on your own server.

KindYu

Very easy server to get and use because it's directly into the game.

However, lot of uptime (you need to get into the discord server to be notified), no mods support and if you get into serious trouble with the server the response time is up to 48h.

Which mean you're pretty much stuck with the vanilla style with no changes once you started the server for the first time

From the moment I stepped into Vintage Journey, I was completely hooked. Even as someone who’s just begun this adventure, I can already say—this game is nothing short of breathtaking. The world-building is phenomenal, from the subtle seasonal changes to the beautiful, atmospheric visuals that pull you in and don’t let go.

The gameplay strikes a perfect balance between challenge and immersion. It doesn’t hold your hand, but it does encourage you to think, explore, and truly engage with your surroundings. Every mechanic, from crafting to exploration, feels purposeful and rewarding.

What stands out the most is how Vintage Journey makes you feel something. It’s more than a game—it’s an experience that captivates your mind and your imagination. I’ve found myself lost for hours, not because I had to be, but because I wanted to be.

That said, I do want to offer one piece of constructive feedback regarding the class system. As someone who loves customizing characters, it felt limiting to choose a class that essentially overrides the freedom of design. For example, choosing the “Commoner” allows full customization, but you’re locked out of basic functions like crafting a bow—something only the Hunter can do. Knights get weapon-crafting perks, but lack flexibility in other areas.

I understand the intention: to make each class feel unique and meaningful. But the current system feels a bit restrictive, especially for those who enjoy freedom in how they play. I’d love to see a more balanced approach—maybe allowing cross-skilling over time or removing rigid class restrictions altogether in favor of a skill-based progression system.

Despite that, I’m in awe of what this game has already delivered. It’s a masterpiece in the making, and I’m excited to continue this journey. Major props to the developers—I hope they consider this feedback and keep refining what is already an incredible world.

Final Rating: 10/10
A mesmerizing, thoughtful, and challenging game that I highly recommend to anyone looking for something truly special.

Great way to get in and experience the game at its rawest form. 3rd party mods (just like the game that inspired this one) make the game a lot more approachable and mailable. The inability to install them does force longevity out of the question.

It is what it says on the tin.
You buy the slot, you go make a coffee and your server is ready.
No fiddeling with port forwarding.
No finding out that your isp decided to switch you to a ds-lite.
No need to get your bachelor in communications.

Of course we all would be happy if you could upload an existing world or add mods, but for getting started with a bunch of friends? Nothings easier.

Even though me and my friends are based in America, the server runs really smooth. Would recommend for sure! It gets no easier than this.
