Copperman
In real life primitive pottery, you quickly learn about something called Temper. Temper is any non-plastic non water absorbing material. Usually it's ground up old pottery. Because unlike clay it does not expand, it cannot crack or distort as it dries, which means the pottery will dry more evenly, expand and shrink less, and won't crack. Of course, in Vintage clay dries instantly so I propose for the sake of having some fun stuff that makes a nod to real life that temper can be produced and added to clay to make a faster building, and faster firing clay body. This is still realistic as greater strength and resistant to thermal shock are both positives of Temper Edited May 11 by Copperman
Maelstrom
kiln burn times are (to my knowledge) based on the fuel not the object being fired.
