Are edible plants affected by season?

I have started a new game with a few mods with seasons turned on and I have yet (9 in game days) to find a turnip, carrot or such...(lotsa berries and a few mushrooms). Do seasons affect plant spawning?

No, only climate (i.e. local yearly average temperature, humidity, etc.) affects wild crop generation.
