TheRedd
After 2 months of living in a dirt shack, I found a great place to make my home, not far from my mud hut. It's on a hill, over looking a series of ponds. Close, but not to close to a forest. So I map out a plan (with dirt), move my stuff, and spend the night. The next morning, I notice my "cog" is spinning counter-clockwise, and it has depleted a bit. Now I see it always does that in this docile area. My question: I'm above ground (a little up hill actually), the environment/biome is the same as my dirt shack was in. Roughly the same altitude. Why does this particular location always make me lose...whatever it is, sanity? I just call it my blue cog.
Solution Thorfinn Posted February 9 Solution Report Share Posted February 9 Stability is randomly determined at mapgen. No reason other than RNG. I've just come to accept that anywhere I'd like to live IRL is probably bad for stability.

Update, I went about 500 blocks to the west, found a better spot with no instability!
