Weird glitch with Spears/Bows

I'm having a very strange problem. Basically, when using a spear/bow, I can't aim and make the reticle stay at the minimum size. I know it should be a combination of sneak+aim bind, but even so, it remains at its medium size. At one point, I managed to use the reticle at its minimum size with the spear, but now I can't anymore.

Any tips?

afaik the minimum size of the reticle depends on ranged stats.

But for trying to help you troubleshoot the issue, you need to give helpful information. the video does not show a difference in minimum reticle sizes between throws.

which game version are you on? are you playing with any mods? Which class is the character? are you experiencing the issue only with this character and in this world? are you experiencing the same issue in daytime? is it the same no matter the ranged weapon (did you try stones)? Are you wearing armour that reduces any stat? ...

All i can say at this point is the minimum reticle seems a bit too big. but your fov seems distorted too.

I bet it's armor penalties.

I 2nd what Streetwind said - armor sets get penalties to aim (both spear throwing and shooting bow) - try it without any armor on and check the difference. On my current world im playing i use simple leather armor set for everyday activities - it has no penalties and its enough for those pesky drifters or occasional wolf/bear encounters. I switch for better armor while going deep cave diving or when temporal storm is abound :)

Thank you for your help!

It doesn't make a difference whether it's day or night. I don't have any armor equipped. The game version is 1.19.8, and I don't have any mods installed. My character class is Commoner. I'm experiencing this issue only with this character and in this world. The issue persists regardless of the ranged weapon used (I tried with stones).

I created a new world and found that I can throw a spear with the reticle at its minimum size again.

Any idea what could be the problem?

Can you show us a screenshot of the affected character's C window?

Thank you very much for your response. I apologize for the mistake in stating that I had no armor equipped. What happened was that I died recently and lost the items because I didn’t get there in time. I had assumed that my armor was also lost, but I later realized that armor is not lost upon death. The issue was with the lamellar armor.
