Jeremija Posted September 8, 2024 Report Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) It would be nice to have some species of birds in game like ducks, woodpeckers, crows, sparrows, etc. This addition would make the game even more alive and exciting to explore! Edited September 8, 2024 by Jeremija 1
-Glue- Posted October 2, 2024 Report Posted October 2, 2024 I know its on the roadmap, but I really hope they go all out when they do add them. Seeing flocks of birds flying in a V formation across the sky, migrating for winter. Hearing mourning dove's in the morning, and owls at night. Ducks and geese skimming across the water. Woodpeckers pecking in the woods. It could give a lot of variety to the auditory experience of different biomes. Overall, it would massively improve the sense of life in the world. Honestly, now that I think about it, this might be one of my biggest wants from the game. Just for the sheer amount of ambiance and immersion it could offer. Now imagine if you could tame and train carrier pigeons to send mail across a server lol 2 1
Khornet Posted October 2, 2024 Report Posted October 2, 2024 I've said it mulitple times that avian fauna and a rework of trees need to be priorities in development to make the game world feel more immersive and alive. Crows cawing in fall, birds chirping in spring, owls hooting at night, cuckoos and woodpeckers in foresty areas and ducks around lakes/ponds = these would contribute TREMENDOUSLY to the feeling of a living, breathing ecosystem of a world. I think the biggest problem is actually making them fly, because If I'm correct I don't think the engine can handle that at all yet. 2 1
Maelstrom Posted October 2, 2024 Report Posted October 2, 2024 I'd like an upgrade to caves first. Some ambient noise, like echoes of water dripping into pools and some cave insects (spiders, crickets, etc) would also be nice. Lastly, let us harvest the bioluminescent vines we see, dadgummit! 1 1
xXx_Ape_xXx Posted October 2, 2024 Report Posted October 2, 2024 Birbs! We need them birbs flying accross the sky and tweeting in the morning 2
Maripop Posted October 4, 2024 Report Posted October 4, 2024 Predatory birds would give reason to build chicken coops or build your chicken pen in an area that is obscured from the sky. 2 1
